About Melissa

Hello and welcome to Melissa McHugh Celebrant.

As your celebrant, my goal is to help you create a memorable and meaningful ceremony that reflects your unique story and respects the occasion that brings you together.

Allow me to share a little about myself.

I grew up on the southern Gold Coast and moved to the Fraser Coast region several years ago where I met my amazing husband. We have two teenage children, two dogs, one that is probably going to be the size of a small horse, one very needy staffy & two cats who allow us to live with them.

Since meeting my husband, I have developed a passion for riding motorbikes and at the tender age of 46 I obtained my motorbike licence. I enjoy road trips as a couple on our bikes when we have the time.

Making the decision to become a marriage celebrant is the best thing I ever did. This will hopefully provide the opportunity to cease working my 9-5 job, enabling me to work on my own terms giving me more precious time to spend with my beautiful family and concentrating on more of a work/life balance whilst allowing me to concentrate more on my arts & crafts & do more exploring on the bikes.

I find great joy in meeting new people and hearing your unique stories, which allows me to design personalised ceremonies that leave a lasting impression. The love, commitment, and energy of each couple I encounter inspires me deeply, from our first meeting all the way to your enchanting wedding day'.
